You have been reading a novel based on the discovery of how animals and humans share similar qualities.
  Please continue to read your novel and complete the selected role by today and every Wednesday. The purpose is to have the experience of understanding a novel and learning how to have book talks with your Literature Circle members.

This writing piece will be graded as a test worth 100 points.
This assignment will be due on Wednesday, December 18th.
Please support your child by talking to them about a memorable event in 
their lives.  Between now and December 18th, students will be going through
the Writing Process. The Writing Process schedule is listed below.

December 9-13: Revising
December 16 and 17th Editing
December 18: Final Narrative Due

We will use these stories as models to help students write their own narratives starting tomorrow.

   We started working on our Literary Analysis Worksheet with our Post-it Notes to better understand author's craft.

  1) Read Brown Girl Dreaming and look for Point of View (Feelings and Thoughts), Onomatopoeia (word sounds), and Repetition
 
2)Write Point of View, Onomatopoeia, and Repetition in each title box
3) Draw an image that represents each title box on a Post-it note.
4) Underneath each Post-it Note write examples of each gathered from the text.
5) Explain why it is important for the author (poet) to have used these tools in our poem.
